Lawrence County Geri Care

About Us

Geri-Care operates two facilities in Western

Pennsylvania, its flagship residence in Harrison

City, PA, southeast of Pittsburgh and its newest

facility, located on West Washington Street in

New Castle, PA. Geri-Care residents can truly

enjoy life because they have the peace of mind

that they will receive the assistance they need

while maintaining their independence.

Geri-Care breaks away from the traditional

type of care facility by providing a family-style

setting that makes the transition to assisted living

less stressful for residents and their loved ones.

Respite Care & Adult Day Care

Geri-Care offers both Respite Care and Adult

Day Care Services for families in the Lawrence

County and surrounding areas. We understand

the desire to care for loved ones at home as well

as the difficulties that arise from the commitment.

We offer the needed assistance to families in our

community with this unique concern. Why not let

Geri-Care be the caretaker of your loved ones when

you need a day to run errands, or go to work, or

even go on vacation for a few days. Our caring

staff welcomes one and all to our Adult Day Care

Program.

Accommodations

We offer both private and semi-private accommodations, including a private bath. Residents enjoy delicious meals and daily activities that help make their golden years a truly enjoyable experience. Whether you stroll down a hall with our

friendly staff, lounge in one of our newly decorated

sitting areas, or take a stroll in our spacious outdoor fenced yard, our surroundings will make

you feel at home.

Snoezelin Relaxation Room—*NEW*

Geri-Care now offers a specially designed

relaxation room to its residents. Using the concepts

of Snoezelin, a therapy developed in the late 1970’s

by Dutch researchers, the newly remodeled room

has become a special place for residents. Snoezelin

utilizes various sensory experiences to stimulate

(but not over-stimulate) the senses, creating a

calming effect in most individuals such as Alzheimers

patients, those suffering from head injury or post

traumatic stress disorder, as well as to individuals

with autism.

Our Snoezelin Relaxation room has a butterfly

garden theme and contains colorful plants, fountains,

a fish tank and lighting elements including a fiber optic touch lamp. We also enjoy the soft music and nature sounds along with the scents of vanilla, lavender and the ocean during our therapy sessions.

Around the Clock Admission and Care

We are sensitive to the fact that the need for admission may arise unexpectedly or on a weekend. In order to make the transition easier on the residents and their families, we have a 24 hour, seven day a week admissions policy. Of course, we care for our residents around the clock, meeting their needs, no matter what time of day or night.
